What happened between Israelians and Palestinians just as we were finishing this film is likely to change many things in the Arab world and in the Mediterranean. However, nothing of what has been said about Marseilles is about to be contradicted. If the global North continues to remain closed to the impoverished global South, Marseilles could well become one of those sleepy cities in the Mediterranean Basin that talks only of things that are no longer. But if the North were to share the fruits that it has largely grown in, and owes to the South, Marseilles would have a major role to play in this exchange.” René Allio
