Mauvais rêves

Of all the old insular beliefs, that of the mazzeri is probably the most mysterious. These heirs to occult and irrational knowledge are part of the collective Corsican memory. The mazzeri, male or female, are gifted with clairvoyant powers and faculties in the course of hypnotic trances, ecstatic states or their sleep, when they frequent the other side.
Mazzerism survives in certain regions of central and southern Corsica such as Cruzini and Taravu. The mazzeri are the last witnesses of a religion of destiny and fate, this fatum found throughout the Mediterranean world.
