Paris today. David and Claire, a left-wing couple, are getting ready for dinner at the home of one of David’s clients, an overtly extreme-right militant. During the drive, David and Claire have a violent clash : he justifies their accepting the invitation, she rebels, before finally submitting. The diner proceeds in a terribly natural manner. For this special occasion the fascists have set their ideology aside. The men talk business, the women speak little, or if they do, they confine themselves to small talk.Back in the street, as they look for their lost car, David and Claire argue once again about the meaning of speech, before going back to their home and their life together.
