From the dawn of time, our ancestors have studied the sky with the naked eye. The sky we observe today seems unchanging, inhabited by static stars grouped into constellations. Although it seems to run as regularly as clockwork, the sky is sometimes crossed by
strange objects: fiery bolides with white manes known as comets which have haunted imaginations throughout the ages. In provoking wonder of fear, comets have always reflected the hopes and fears of societies they have passed over. This film looks at these amazing subjects of legend as well as the history of mankind and its ideas.
