Like many people, I think Dominique Bagouet is the greatest, most inventive and most varied of French choreographers, who though constant searching, pushes each of his discoveries to the extreme.” Jean Mambrino, April 1992.Dominique Bagouet died December the ninth 1992. He was 41. In the months that followed, the Dominique Bagouet Dance Company performed some of his most beautiful creations before splitting up. Beyond the record of his works is an exploration of the personality of this exceptional artist, using interviews with his friends and dancers, as well as Charles Picq’s hours of footage of Bagouet at work, shot in an atmosphere of trust, which we watch with emotion today.
