Juliette is 14 years old. Fabienne, her best friend dumps her in favor of Catherine. Juliette does not feel up to fighting. Catherine likes
opera, tap dances and believes in God despite her family’s communist convictions that go back generations. She is even considering entering a convent. In short, she is a girl unlike the others. Juliette, who is jealous, says she’s a snob. She is so jealous that she loses the plot completely. Making the most of her nights spent babysitting, she starts harassing Fabienne with anonymous phone calls. Faking the voice and accent of an old American woman, she warns her that a sadist is lurking around her. Fabienne is frightened.Juliette gets caught up in her own lie and ends up frightening herself. As time goes by, she is drawn into the spiral of an ever-receding reality.
