MICHEL PORTAL (JAZZ COLLECTION)

A French clarinet, saxophone and accordion player born in Bayonne in 1935, Portal is a musical nomad. We find him playing a duo with Richard Gallianno in Orvieto one night, recording the original music for Gaston Karboré’s latest film in Paris the next day, then giving a concert in New York with his friends Texier, Jeannot and Humair. Back in his home town, he talks about his ultimate dream: Bringing jazz, classical and contemporary together into one musical style.
