Under the watchful eye of trainer John Smith, we will follow a typical day in the life of Marie-José Pérec. Perec’s already-glorious track record soared to new heights with her double victory in the 200 and 400 metres at the Atlanta Olympics. The documentary examines training from an unusual angle. To the rhythm of her breathing, it shows the efforts, tension, and also the relaxion required for an athlete to perform to the best of her abilities at major meets. This film takes a close up, slow motion look at champion-level athletic training, and at the tremendous energy which is unleashed by the starter’s gun.
