Today, the name Daum means vases: those large imposing vases in transparent crystal that made impressive wedding gifts. The signature alone guaranteed the gift’s prestige. Few people know that Daum is the name of a family and that their story started a century ago under the least favorable auspices, before becoming one of the most interesting examples in Europe of the links between art and industry.
