A zoo in the city… explores the multiple and sometimes contradictory relations between man and animals in captivity. This film, shot exclusively in the Parisian “Ménagerie du Jardin des Plantes” (the oldest modern zoo in activity), seeks to explore the functioning of this artificial site, to question its impact on the imagination of its visitors, and, thus, try to
throw light on our relation to animality.
