The film relates the birth and rise of fascism, by leaning on the diary of a young member of a squadra. According to historians, this testimony is the most original and trustworthy, since it was written right at the time, between 1919 and the March on Rome in March 1922. Throughout rare and astonishing archives, the film questions the reality of the Italian inter-war society, in order to understand how it could be a fertile field for the fascism. It raises the dangers encountered by a society that doesn’t manage to evolve and take its members’ aspirations in consideration.
